Giallo in Tonbridge for QPV/GT. I found Matthew loves the cars and is knowledgeable with an eye for fine detail and he did not push work onto me at all. I would be happy to go back there. Nearby railway station too - always helps.

I was very sad to learn of the demise of SportsItalia who I had used several times and was very impressed by them, I rated them much higher than the main dealer that I had used previously. I hope that the resurrection of SI takes place before my next service or out of service work is due, but should it not transpire I would appreciate any recommendations for an interim independent which is feasible to get to from Surrey.

Emblem in Poole a little further along the coast seem to be a good option.

Emblem were always my 'Go-to'... but boy have their prices risen over the last 15 years or so.
i would think that £95 + VAT for real expertise is ok value for money in the context of today ... my local BMW dealer is charging £212+VAT per hour and they would not recognise an E46 M3 even if I park mine in the middle of their showroom ... OPC South London is £204 + VAT...

Main Dealer hourly rates are unbelievable now and having worked for a few including Maserati they certainly don't pay us technicians top dollar.

You miss my point, I reference the fact of how much it has gone up from when I was using them between 2008 and 2016... I would be unable to justify using them for a service especially when the car does less than 250 miles a year.

I do however have no doubt that thier rate is worth it when dealing with problems.

250 miles a year.. I almost do that going down to AV and back for annual services.

I've used Emblem since 2007 and will be down there again in June. I don't think the rates are untoward for a Maserati, especially when Grange Jaguar quoted me £125/hr + VAT to service my X-Type some years ago.

What price provenance?

£115 per hour in this case.

Well after reading all the Proxi Alignment manuals, I guess I will need to seek out someone with the correct gear if I ever want my parking sensors to work and the odometer to stop flashing… so the advice is Emblem for those living in the South West?

It's also worth bearing in mind that Emblem will happily drop you off / collect you from Bournemouth railway station, and from Bournemouth you can get a cross country service that stops at Reading and Banbury (and a stack of other places), making it far more accessible than you might first think. I used to rent a car to get home and then back, but now I just get a train. Oh - and their hourly rate is very reasonable, they're quite happy to fit reconditioned parts (e.g. A/C compressor), and I trust them completely. I use my car a lot (35,000 miles in 4 years) and they've never tried to foist unnecessary work on me - ever.
