Guys, I had a strange thing that happened at a junction today. I was in MC Sport mode, tried to pull away and it just revved quite loud seeming to slip a gear, then at the second attempt it pulled away.

Any idea what this could be?

Cheers

I take it you were in gear and it did not drop into neutral?

Mine did this today, I was waiting at a junction for about 3 mins waiting for a gap, the car beeped then went into neutral. Suppose it is trying to safeguard the clutch.

It's the same on the 4300 / GS. This from the manual...

"For your safety reasons, the system activates the sound signal and automatically sets the neutral gear (N) when the car is stopped, the engine is on and the gear is engaged:
- if the brake pedal or the accelerator is not used for over 1 minute
- if the brake pedal is pressed for more than 10 minutes
- if the door is opened without pressing the brake pedal or the accelerator
- if the engine lid is opened."

So if your stuck at a junction awaiting a gap, keeping the brake pressed should keep the car in gear.

Thanks guys, but I wasn't at the junction that long really, less than 10 -20 seconds I would say and I didn't have to put in first it just eventually pulled away.

There is also a clutch overheat safety procedure Mike, so it could have been that, and also sometimes the system will look for 1st gear, miss it (for whatever reason) and then engage 2nd instead. The manual doesn't list this as a fault, but rather the system following the CC logic.

If it was an isolated incident, then I'd keep an eye on it in case it happens again, but not be overly concerned.

Welcome to the forum by the way :D How long have you had your GTS? Enjoying it other than the reason for your posts?

Cheers Miles, only had the GTS for about 6 weeks, absolutely love it, had a 997 C2S cab before. Loving the noise, sense of occasion, looks, I can't think of a car I'd rather have.. :) mines black with black with smoked alloys.

Cheers
