Thanx @Sam McGoo for your detailed explanation - I am a Maserati virgin after all, so I appreciate the handholding. @dickygrace - thanx for pointing this out originally. I am struggling to find an image of a 2013 or a 2016 pre-facelift or a post facelift image so that I can compare & contrast. I have looked at the service book where the warranty starts from 09/16. To the point raised above, I am really happy with the car and I am not looking to return. I am ...*touch wood*, hoping for long stints of painless cruising...

That being said, I am curious.....

That is worth doing. Just for your info/piece of mind. They are generally quite quick with replies too.

You could message :
info@maserati.com

They can confirm build date / model / spec
You will need to send them a copy of the V5 in your name
You can send a pic of your interior showing your steering and it will be a tell tale sign as you'll have the same one as the Sport. You also seem to have the facelifted side skirts.

I see what you mean - the chrome grill and seats....and as @Scaf and @Sam McGoo suggested, I will reach out to Maserati with my V5....who knows, maybe able to negotiate with Cinch on something---lifetime warranty perhaps?!

MY 12 car can tell by the seats.
I promise you it’s not ! The facelift 4.2s had these seats which were used on the older S models. As suggested, the steering wheel in Davangar’s has the same steering wheel as the Sport, which was a facelift item of the 4.2

Hi All,
Fantastic news!

I have checked in with info@maserati.com and provided them with V5 and VIN. They have responded couple of hours back, confirming the change in ownership and that this car was indeed manufactured 08/2016.

I must admit that I was quite surprised with how quickly they came back - emailed them yesterday and I got the response today!!

Phew!! Rylan can keep his dentures after all....

Back on the Halford thing... Obviously we all think they are cowboys and I'm sure they (and other garages) will often do stupid things, but... is there merit in taking up the (if I understand correctly) included servicing, which would presumably have to use OEM spec parts, and oil, and then paying an indy specialist to look over it (like a pre-purchase inspection, but an owner inspection sort of thing, or a service minus the basic stuff?), perhaps on the alternate years if it's on 24 month servicing?

Even the basic service items, so 7-10 litres of fully synthetic, an oil filter, an air filter, a cabin filter all add up, and changing these things on a GT can't be that different to most other cars surely?

The amount of times I've seen a Air filter fitted badly on a GT or QPV was shocking but yes the lubrication service could be done by any technician what many won't have is good diagnostic gear that you could do a health check on the car with and reset the service.

That is good news! Makes yours somewhat of a rarity I would think as it must have been a special order.
I wonder if they used the later MC autoshift software on yours. The early 4.2 auto software was a little lacking in comparison.
