And the noise makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on it. And, somewhat to my embarassment the other weekend, makes small girls grimace and put their fingers in the ears.

Small girls don't count....

You're right. It s neither big nor clever to make them grimace. Need to set my sights higher for sure!

Absolutely Gorgeous car.

Was wondering what the real world difference was between driving a 4.2 Granturismo and the 4.7 S MC Shift.

Understand from talking to the local dealer that a lot of owners tend to trade up to the 4.7 version - mainly the S as the MC Shift is extremely rare in Australia.

Just wanted to see what the owners on here have to say about the differences.

Yes I can concur that the boy does not lie! The sound track is to die for, the fuel consumption is horrendous!

The 4.2 is a descent enough car but the 4.7 is how it should always have been hence why there are always loads of 4.2's for sale.

I would tend to disagree with you regarding consumption. Admittedly in the first week of ownership I was averaging almost single figures, but on a run from Nottingham to Kent and return I averaged 27.8. In fact, other than the first week, my total average lies in the low 20's which, considering what the car has on offer is good in my book. I've driven both the 4.2 and the 4.7 and they are chalk and cheese. At the moment, the only car I would swap for is the upcoming Sport version, but even then I'm not convinced it's enough of an improvement to warrant swapping.

I am tempted to swap for a sport as residuals on Granturismo are strong so the cost to change would be reasonable but I would need to sit in the seats first.

What is holding me back is that the new QP will debut end 12/early 13 and it might make the Granturismo look old all of a sudden. Bear in mind that all the controls etc are QP items so the journalists will be talking about the new Granturismo through next year.

Ive got the exact same model same colour and wheels even have the white stiching!

At the weekend i got 26.5 mpg on the trip to the supercar day, and 13.8 on the track at full chat, considering i dont get 15 on the fezza its actually quite good.

The new Stradale faced "Gran Turismo Sport" to replace the "Gran Turismo S" comes to the UK in September, it has the Stradale front end with 20 extra bhp and promises a better fit and quality interior. Ive even been offered a discount already to swap - and might well do.

First Sports are arriving in July. I am looking forward to trying the seats.

I have been talking of swapping but am not sure about the new nose treatment - need to see one in the flesh with a number plate fitted.

As far as im aware the front is the same as the current stradale if youve seen one. If the first cars get here in July i will be right over as mine out of warranty in September.

i like the new look, if this is what we get, dont like fake chrome on the grill tho and it wont be real metal.

Strad at the bottom is kind of similar

Hasn't the Stradale got a different exhaust setup? They pipes exit higher and more centrally and I'm pretty certain they're louder than the MC. Personally the lack of rear seats makes it no good. Oh, and the price (though I'm sure as used ones get older the prices will get less silly).

I do like the look of the seats in the Sport and wonder how many people will succumb to them when they innocently drop by their local dealer for a quick look..?
