The latter, Grigio one has a third the mileage for only a couple of grand more so no contest.

Mind you, I am not convinced on that colour combo, might look better in real life.

Great value. Perhaps, but I bought my coupe for low £20s when 4 yrs old and with 27k miles. Here 5 years old same miles and £40k. Not the same, of course, but a sad reflection of price inflation.

Andy wrote -> "lots of car for the money"

The same money gets you a 2007 GranSport with fewer miles and fewer kilos (300, to be exact!).

2 very different cars though Pat.......After beeig in both recently the GT feels a far more modern and better put together pakage than the older Coupe........Not as fast in 4.2 form but not the same car and as such you will find that Maserati nuts/fans appreciate the GS where as the GT is now appealing to a whole difefrent audience...People who would not have even thought of buying a Maserati are buying the GT..........GS is a Sports car - Grantourismo is a grandg tourer - Very different cars - Don't think you can put the two in the same brachet. To be honest I would not pay 37k for a GS no matter how good or what miles it had on it.....Thats just me mind you as I know that some would.

Very true but it reflects the improved quality and market positioning of the Granturismo. People buy them now instead of Astons and Bentleys.

I agree that the Alfieri with tan car is better value (the other car is too bland for me irrespective of miles) but with used cars you are living with someone else's strange choices and they get stranger on top end cars as more choice is offered and more options allowed. That car has the tan top dash which is uck to me and, in fact, Maserati no longer allow the top dash to be ordered in a light colour as it reflects really badly in the windscreen.

Think though, 50% of new cost for a 4.5 year old Maserati. Who would have thought that a while back. I remember Harry Metcalfe off loading his 4.2 Granturismo after six months because he was worried about residuals.

You are right of course bigbob and it also reflects the size. It is a good looking thing but I would rather my car lost 200kg rather than buy one at 200kg more. Views change of course and I may feel differently in a few years as my model grows more out of date, or maybe not, as someone said it is a pretty classic design and should therefore age well.

Agree on the weight issue but the Granturismo is much bigger than the 4200 and is not really a replacement for it. Still handles well in Sport IMHO though.

If I didn't have so many cars already at BB Towers then instead of a new GTS Auto I wonder if I should have bought a second hand 4.2 GT and a second hand Cayman S!

Bid on a coupe set on eBay one time but went too dear. Nice to have but only at a sensible price.

New they are £2500.......They look lovely but a plastic carrier bag is free and fits in the boot just fine.

Andy let me know if you find a GTS for £2500..............I promise not to haggle on the price and may even offer double that to secure the purchase.
