Hello Jim and welcome to the forum. What on earth is a "Bordwatch"? (I await a pun and a whoosh parrot :) )

If the dashboard clock, I believe you can remove the vents to "push" it out without marking leatherette....someone has done a post somewheres on the forum

This from Nigw....

Unless the spacings are significantly different between the air vents and the clock on the 4200/GS compared to on the 3200, then the easiest way is just to pull out the air vents....you should then be able to get your fingers to the back of the clock and it will just pop out.

There are a couple of spring clips (top and bottom) holding it in place, pushing it out mangles them but they will straighten and be reused once. Or take the dash top out and do it propperly by taking off the metal retaining plate with four screws!

I've not done that myself so I have no idea what room or access is that way...

Is it a backlight issue you have, it is quite common, as I understand it it is the ballast chip that fails so the PL is getting the incorrect voltage. The chips are still available but I couldn't find anyone willing to provide a 'sample'... Suppliers are minimum 1000 unit orders!
