As i suspected greater volume of cars, also as suspected over a greater no of years but Maserati still ceased parts production , one can just hope that their long term stratedgists are made to rethink and rethink and rethink again untill it is abundantly clear that 3200 owners want to be around for a long time to come

The Maserati Karif is a luxury coupe produced by Maserati between 1988 and 1992. It was designed to be luxurious but at the same time, a bit sporty so that you can "feel like a racing driver again or for the first time".[3] It was met with mixed reviews as it didn't live up to expectations of another Bora.

The car was named after the wind called "Karif" which blows South West across the Gulf of Aden at Berbera, Somalia.

The Karif had an engine it shared with the Maserati Biturbo, the AM473, a 2.8 L V6 engine with 3 valves per cylinder. It produces 285 brake horsepower (213 kW) at 5500 rpm which can take the car from 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 255 km/h (158.4 mph).[2] It used the same chassis as the Zagato Spyder model.

MODEL TESTED: Cup
LIST PRICE: approx £46,000 when last sold
TOP SPEED 153 mph
30 - 7O MPH: 4.8 sec
0 - 6O MPH: 5.6 sec
60 - O MPH: 2.6 sec
MPG: 27.6
For: blistering performance, understated looks, rarity
Against: awful driving position, gear change, a bit pricey

Errrrrrr afraid the Karif wins :)

i was right then

Not exactly Andy........perhaps on top speed depending on where you draw your data from but certainly not on acceleration

Cup 0-60 5.2........Karif 0-60 4.8 (as fast as a Gransport on paper).

What is for sure is that the Karif has bucket loads of potential as a collector's car with little more than 200 manufactured.

I have no idea what they are like to drive

Nooooooooooooooo you were wrong.......... you and Loz are getting confused between the cars and the fact that 30 to 70mph in the Cup = 4.8 sec but 0-60mph in Karif = 4.8secs
