Well, it look very good on the face of it and I don't think the car is a members on here so hopefully I won't go upsetting anyone.

The mileage is low for the year but, if I am brutally honest, the drivers seat looks like its done twice that so go in with your eyes open.

Also, you MUST GET AN INDEPENDENT MASERATI INSPECTION, no ifs, no buts. Being an auto, you also want to get the crank end float measured, its very, very important.

Of course history speaks volumes and check the condition of all the wear items, tyres, brakes, shocks etc, as running costs are expensive and people don't bother to do them.

If you do a search on here there are loads of 3200 buying guides, ill try and look one out for you.

All the best and good luck, and remember, the guys on here are a great bunch so if you go look at a car, one of the local members will be more than happy to come with you and show off there Maserati prowess!

Thanks guys, cambelt replacement stood out to me (being 4yrs ago since the last one) possible bargaining point, and no mention of clutch or throttle body work.
Does seem as if its a bit hit and miss with these 3200's now theyre getting on. I know a newer 4200 would be more sensible but . . . I do prefer the boomerang lights and love turbo cars in general!
There is another black manual 3200 with red interior doing the rounds it seems, although this one has been talked about on here before.
Any specialists in the essex area?
Cheers,
Joe

Lancaster Maserati in Colchester have been known to cast their eye round cars on the basis they'll get some work out of it but Grimaldi in Halstead (independent Maser, Lambo and Ferrari specialist) may be a better bet. I've not used them yet but they have a solid reputation. Not sure if they do full inspections against a check-list but I imagine they know where the possible pain points are.

TX parisien for info
Just had another email from the seller of the black 3200gt with red interior (not the opening post) reg x686egp, seems he is desparate to sell. I politely informed him of the cars previous sale prices and the potential of how much it may cost to fix given its current state of service, he simply replied with 'ok'. haha
I get the feeling they (trade seller) know this and just want to get rid, unfortunately as they are using it as a daily drive it will most likely get run it into the ground . . . very sad

Any doubts walk away.....you do not want to buy....2/4/6/8 weeks of grief and have a poor experience........always better to spend a little extra on a well known, serviced car....pays in the medium/long term

If throttle body, pedal pot or clutch have not been done, sods law says they will all come up within the first 12 months of ownership so budget accordingly. Do the cam belt before accepting the car as the outcome of this failing is catastrophic...as we all know!

Lambdas and knock sensors Are also known to require replacing at around this mileage.

Neil

Throttle body and pot will cost you 1k if you do like i did and get the contactless one

Cambelt with a service is £1500, try to but for 9-9500k and youve done well

He Sheriff and a big warm welcome to the forum....The black one in the original link , as you say, has been for sale for ages........I would say a good year or more......they were selling on behalf of a customer......Worth a look and an inspection I would say.

Yes I think more time is needed to find a decent one. Colour of preference would be a black with a manual for me, or possibly the sky blue, hmm . . .
The other alternative is to to sell my daily drive and spend the extra cash to get a gransport and just be done with! haha
