Went to Maldives last June. To go there you must be one of two types of people: you love doing nothing but relaxing or you enjoy water activity (snorkelling, big game fishing, dolphin watching, etc). The island I was on was only 500m long, so you could walk round it in 15mins.
The white dots in the picture are water bungalows. The reef edge is south facing, next land fall - Antarctica, 5000 miles due south.
There were about 70 water bungalows.
40min seaplane flight from capital Male.
Stingrays swimming under the hotel bar every night. Saw six at one time, all attracted by the lights.
