I dont disagree but it should be remembered that they kept the company ticking over to where we are now. Not a memorable period in the marques history but someone has spent a lot of time and money to restore a car he thought was worth it and we should applaud him for keeping another Maser on the road.

Yup...no problem with that Ian..........but they are never going to be the most desirable model even in 30 yrs time

Not the best QP styled like a brick - I will stick with none where each panel had a different designer (a few who may well have been blind)

Maybe not for us, but it is for him. It's a good job we are all different or the roads would be full of 4200 spyders!

If you want to be a individual and stand out from the crowd it could be just the ride. Could see myself doing that in the next 10 years to be honest. Might have to ask the wife first rather than be influenced by you guys from now on though. Phil.

I've exchanged a few emails with the owner over the last few days, and he put me in touch with the restoration company. I called them, and the response was polite but a little strange - not willing to provide any details or comments and not allowing me to go and have a look ("we're not insured to accept visitors"). When I mentioned this to the owner he reacted by withdrawing the car from sale. All very odd.

Exchanged another few emails with the owner. It so transpires that he has just learnt that the new engine head repair is not quite right and it's not running properly. Obviously he can't (and doesn't want to) sell it like that. He's hoping that the garage that did the work will correct it under warranty, and then he can reconsider selling it. So the withdrawal from sale is not so odd after all.

Whenever I see these I cannot help but think of Sly Stallone in Rocky 3. I don't understand why Maserati is portrayed as the evil or losers car in alot of movies.

I remember Rocky best in his Lamborghini Jalpa (in Rocky IV). I had one for a few years and loved it, even though the roof leaked. Definitely a sunny-day-only car.
