Hi YHTM, The Loudlink plugs into the CD socket at the back of the NIT (4200) so the header reads it as a CD player. It's basically a SD card CD emulator reading mPeg, but just be aware it doesn't read Apple code though you can get around this by plugging an iPod into the AUX.

Hi I saved an extra €27 so when converted to GBP was only £139 for the box, cable and free delivery. There are threads discussing the product, installation etc - seems an easy thing to do. Although I like the ease of just sticking CDs in the boot the CD swapover is painfully slow and from time to time the unit seems to forget there are CDs in some of the slots. I plan to install the box in the armrest and load 500 tracks (well slightly less) and still have the option of plugging an MP3 or whatever into the aux input.

That's exactly what happens with my changer - it only recognises one slot yet I've had it tested and been told there's nothing wrong with it! Is your arm rest plan based on someone's else's installation or is that your idea? Would like to see a step by step on that.

Well, received my box from Hungary - looks really well engineered but I guess a nice box can hide many sins ;-) But I would say the documentation etc all gives a good impression of the company.

So, on to fitting. Took the top off the centre console and pulled out the blue plug that goes to the multi CD player in my boot - considering how hard it was to remove that cable I knew I was in for some fun plugging in the new one! I've got as far as removing the 2 tubes for the rear ventilation and one of the brackets that the top section of the console screws into (how I get it back in is yet to be determined!) to improve access. I ran out of time at this point....today I'm thinking why didn't I stick it in the boot!!! Well, one reason is that I'm hoping the Aux input on the loadlink will allow me to use the car system for my mobile phone speaker + I figured it would be handy having the box more accessible for changing SD cards etc but not so sure now - possiby running a long lead from the boot to the console area would have been fine for plugging the phone in!!!

One question though for someoene who knows about hifi and the Auditorium 200 upgrade - if I plug the loudlink into the centre console would I end up not using the amp or other kit associated with the Auditorium 200? I'm hoping that the multi CD that I'm replacing is wired straight into the console so swapping this for the CD emulator will be fine but if there are some auditorium bits that are connected between teh multi-CD and teh console I would be removing them - any ideas?

Will get back onto this tonight.

cheers

Well all done now - ended up persevering and fitting in the front console. Drilled a 16m hole under the rubber matted section at the back so quite a neat job really. Only useful info to share beyond what you can find elsewhere is that I tried one 2gb SD card for the initial setup and nothing happened. Tried all sorts of options but still not working - used a different SD card and all was OK after that. On the initial MP3s the sound isn't as good as from a CD so will rip some at a much higher sample rate and see how they are. Am assuming the auditorium stuff is between the NIT box and the display/speakers as radio sounds same as before.
