I noticed that either through time, wind or the occasional knock that my door mirror was loose and consequently would change position when driving. Today was the day to cure it.
I used Loz's brilliantly detailed door card removal post to remind where all those screws were and got the door card off, then disconnected the electrical connections to the mirror and removed the allen screws. Not a difficult task but time consuming. After I had the wing mirror in my hand I thought I'll need to find the part that was worn and fix or replace.
Well there's no need for any of that. It's simply the 3 screws underneath the mirror that needed tightening.
So if any one else out there is a little agitated at their mirror flapping around in the wind, don't go to the lengths I did, just arm yourself with a suitable screwdriver and tighten your screws.
Here's a shot of the underside of the mirror. It's the 3 torx screws that are concerned.
