Looking to purchase a Ghibli - Newbie question

Are the brakes unique as they are Model specific? Also any info on the misfires and what the cause is please?

misfires can be a nightmare to diagnose, so just walk away from any with those symptoms, might just be a coil pack, might be the injectors…..which are DI and come in 3’s attached to the rail ££££ the 2017 on ones with the bigger dash screen have a bit more power and the revised power plants are allegedly less likely to develop issues.

On the drilled bigger brakes, they don’t fit any other car and pattern parts exist only from one supplier and the price isn’t much less than OE. look the prices up in Eurospares. The pad shapes are available elsewhere, but not with the Maserati wear sensor. You’ll be almost £5000 at a dealer including labour for 4 wheel pads and discs. Basically price chip hard if brakes are worn.

Definitely much fewer issues than you’d get on an S Audi though.

Good info. On the misfires as you say it could be something simple such as failing coil pack or water ingress, injectors would be more concerning though.

Strange they would put a bespoke size on the brakes, daft though!!

Still quite fancy one of these so may have to test drive one.

Last December I got new discs and pads on front, and new pads and a skim on the rear for about 1400 at an independant. They are the larger drilled ones too

The big front discs are around £500, the rears £400 and a full set of pads £400.

That’s not too bad then. My old AMG was more than that so it’s bearable just…..lol

Those are Eurosport OE prices, not bad if you’re used to this type of car, it’s just that there is only one aftermarket option I could find and they werent much cheaper

Rear discs and pads are in my garage from Scuderia: £480 + fitting.

So it's possible to shave some off the prices quoted but of course you might lose on fitting depending on where you are going.

Mine is the 3 drilled set up, 6 pots front, 4 pots back plus the seperate black caliper for the hand brake.

Yeah, I think you're right. There are plenty of pad options it seems, but discs not so much
