Can't seem to do this (aware of sensor disarm for towing), lock the door with the key and the alarm sets.

Any ideas?

On mine there is a wee button up by the rear view mirror, where there are also little sensors that turns off the interior sensor, effectively part arming the car but stopping the alarm going off on ferries and the like.

I didn't know that Athol, thanks. I have been locking it with the key on Ferries so probably not deactivating it at all (cant remember if the red LED flashes on top of the door card)

Yes, the dome panel has buttons to disable the interior sensors and also the acceleromator / motion sensor thing. The exact process of how you disable one or t'other is a bit weird. Typical Italian - stand on one leg, drink an espresso, smoke, click, press, lock, unlock, get out, try again, shout "work you stupid bast4rd" and then say, bollox, I'm going upstairs to the bar". I think that's what it says in my manual. Shout if anyone wants me to scan / post.

Pretty much, Adam:

Deactivating the alarm system motion sensors
Press button T to deactivate the alarm motion sensing system. When this function is deactivated, the LED on the button flashes for 3 seconds and then turns off.
Press button U to deactivate the anti-lift alarm. When this function is deactivated, the LED on the button flashes for 3 seconds and then turns off.

U is the button on the far left of the roof console. T is the one next to it.

You pointed this out to me on the Ferry on the way to Le Mans if I remember correctly.
