Leasing Advice post Covid/Brexit apocalypse

I’ve been leasing my dailies for the past 5 or 6 years.

The Evoque, which has been brilliant, goes back on Friday.

I was expecting another great deal but no, everything seems to have gone up substantially.

My previous Audi Q2 was £220pm plus vat and the well spec’d Evoque £280pm plus vat.

I want a Velar but we are looking double that.

Usually I just pick from what’s on special but nothing is grabbing me.

Was planning to get a £3k Alfa Giulietta then get a better deal next year when the meltdown kicks in then donate the Alfa as a courtesy car for the business.

What’s the leasing experts on here think?

Jeanette got a stunning spec Gulietta on HP, was far better deal than lease and some value in resale at the end.

Mate leased a Velar end of last year and got a great deal but he was only telling me at the weekend that he was looking to lease something for hie daughter and they looked at the Evoque which was more than his Velar when he checked the Velar prices they were twice what he is paying.

Sounds like your Alfa plan might be a good way to go

My daily is a surprisingly nippy Suzuki Swift. It's basic but has a 3-cylinder turbo petrol producing 100+bhp and Auto Android. It's good for the Surrey back roads and for 10k mileage over 3 years it's costing me £177 including VAT and Maintenance.
It's cheaper and faster than the trains and walking.

Apologies fellas.
This is known as the “Wattie” effect. Since I bought mine the world has since realized the unique value of these vehicles.

On a serious note, I reckon the following.
Credit has tightened....as banks think many will default.
This leaves fewer customers meeting the current stipulated “lending” criteria.
So they charge them more, to make up for the lack of qualified numbers.
My advice, their will be a tipping point in this sh1t show where they are stuck with no customers and lots of cars....:wait 3-6 months as this whole thing will probably go boom, the Brexit shambles for a start and any subsequent legal court case nonsense if Bojo renages.
Then you’ll get the deal u want.

Cheap Alfa Mito Cloverleaf is my daily and just purchased old Merc CL 500 luxobarge at Anglia Auctions for £2k last month for the nasty weather. Depreciation free fun cars and as I don’t do much mileage then consumption is not a factor. Leasing is just an expensive way to cover the depreciation IMO

Good mate of mine came round in his brand new £100k M5 yesterday, paid £60k for it, £1k down and £599 pcm over 12 months.

Off to look at BMW finance deals.....

Edit. After 2 minutes of looking. The BMW website isn't giving out anything decent.

Might be BMW are struggling. The inlaws got something like 30% off a new 530 touring 3 weeks ago.

I think most are...Mercedes where on the news saying the same thing yesterday. It's not a surprise. Not a good time to be selling new cars I would say where as the used market is still buoyant at the moment...…..

The thing is though, I've seen soon many 70 plate cars in the last few days. So they must be shifting. Somehow.

Reading between the lines the inlaws deal was on a car that the dealers had allocated but couldn’t sell. They’re in Deal so down your way. They just went into the dealers to look at a nearly new one and were offered the one they had.
