Finally managed to do a deal on another car I have wanted for ages. It is an early pre HE XJ-S, which are rare cars anyway but the one I have bought is the ultra rare V12 Manual version. It is a 1976 car and has done 42,000 miles from new with history, needs a bit of fettling but it is a good solid base for a great car. I know some of you will think I am mad...... personally I just love the Kent alloys. More pictures when I get it home if anyone is interested.

Lovely car! I had a V12 auto for a while. Fantastic when it worked, but the electrics were bollox and the chassis as rusty as ****. It died in the end, poor thing.

My old man has a 3.6 manual that he bought from John Redwood MP. He has an XJS-C when I was a kid, the first UK customer car (or so he claims). He also had an XJ6 and an E-Type all at the same time.

Now he has a Volvo !

I too can see the attraction looks lovely.
10 years ago my daily driver was a S3 4.2 XJ6 totally reliable and a my only gripe of Jags from that era is the steering is too light but you adapt to it.
Actually owned two at the same time as they were so cheap and it got me planning permission for my workshop as you couldn't park two big jags in the size they were proposing so result.

Bertie Henly was my dad's father-in-law until he divorced his first wife and then subsequently married my mum.

Splendid! My brother in law had a 1976 V12 manual in red as his first car in about 1984. I wonder if this is the same car?!

A fairly rare sight now when you consider how many were made. Congratulations on saving it as so many have died

Lots of people talking up prices of these, particularly the early ones. Harry Metcalfe has acquired two recently. Nice Harry's Cars about one of them on Youtube

Sublime.

I've had a few V12 Jags, and the ride/engine on those is just magical. Bravo!

You do have a very similar taste to me with your selection, TR8 excluded. Love the pre HE XJS always been on the want list and if it wasn't for space I might have picked one up by now.
