Surely SOR or they are crazy
It’s arguable you have to be crazy to own 1 so I guess I’m now 5 times crazier then the chap who has 1. I simply adore them And they are a whole lot of Italian sports car for no money.
Thanks
Surely SOR or they are crazy
5 now7 3200's for sale to make money commercially.....I watch with interest
I contacted them a couple of weeks ago about the Red one with 67k miles. When I enquired if it had had the chain service he laughed and told me the 3200 didn't have chains!! I bought a lovely 43k model a week later...not from Lake Side Motors.
Thanks it’s appreciated.Hi Dan
I suspect the red one is an example I considered that was being sold by a relocating French chap. The maintaining specialist told me it needed money spent so I gave it a miss. Excellent to hear you are investing money to get the cars up to scratch so that future owners can enjoy them.
There is a Lambo dealer near me that had a business model to use his wealth to buy all good recent models and control the market; he has been pretty successful. It's a shame that despite some good press the 3200 is not in more demand. Plenty of threads on this forum to explain why they are still not popular.
It's great to read what you are doing and I wish you every success. I'm sure all 3200 owners on here will be pleased if you can move the market upwards.
Apologies, changes of staff have been made sometime ago, I do hope you found the car you were looking for and we do pride ourselves on a high customer service. Our reviews on the website speck for themselves. They, obviously, do have chains. No one changes unless noise. It certainly wouldn't have put me off, an otherwise, well maintained car.
Welcome to the forum Dan, and your communication certainly dispells a few myths. You've certainly put your money where your mouth is. Good Luck.
I hope 3200's do go up for you, as well dragging up 4200's in their wake!
Dan, aka Mr Brave Pants (I think that we'll call you now!) have you driven a 4200? What's your market thoughts on them?
I like it (Mr Brave Pants) , I’m known to take a chance or 3 and buy/ deal in odd ball Cars so I’ve got bigger shoulders over the years and we all know that classic saying “he who dares ..... and all that Rodney”Dan, aka Mr Brave Pants (I think that we'll call you now!) have you driven a 4200? Ok the 4200 I’ve owned, driven and like. Again they in my opinion don’t receive the recognition they deserve and their values are slowly taking momentum and rightly so.
If your going to go for the 4200 it’s worth going for the Gransport because to command higher values it generally comes down to rarity and theres a lot less of them around. The 4200 Spyder again was built in lesser numbers but they do suffer from scuttle shake which puts me off and will you if your a driver. The coupes are a better driving experience for sure. Manuals are a lot rarer so again a better investment option due to lower build numbers but if you want excitement and rarity with a better investment opportunity it’s the 3200 for me hence I own 5 . I’ve always lent towards a turbo car and this was the last of the Bi turbo which is/was Maserati’s signature and no longer available in their later models due to Ferrari owning and taking ownership of the Bi turbo crown. So if you want a 4200 go for the Gransport Coupe in Manual if you can find one. I’m not saying write the Spyder off but defiantly drive one or 3, they did improve towards the end of the production run and they do represent superb Italian rag top super car driving for a lot less the thier rivals. I’m a lover of them all for different reasons but as said my weakness is the 3200.
I’ll leave you with my analogy of an Italian sports/supercar.
A German sports supercar is like your wife, beautiful, strong, reliable, fast, doesn’t brake the Bank and alway puts a smile on your face.
An Italian sports cars is like a Mistress, fast, racey, amazing to look at, exciting, Every man wants one, But High maintenance, expensive, always breaking down and very unpredictable.....
Good luck
Also I’d like to ad to everyone I’m no expert just a lover of Maserati’s and can only share my opinions and experiences from over the years. I may be off the mark at times and always like to listen and appreciate being corrected if I’ve got any detail wrong, as said I’m just someone who enjoys all types of cars especially the 3200 and am fortunate to have been able to make a living out of my passion. Happy Massering Guys.
There you go, I did say I’m not up on the 4200 as much. ThanksNo Gransport manuals so would have to be the 4200 only if that is your bag reference your post above
Many thanks and yes I did take a big leap but it’s fine. I never looked at it as short term and they are rising so better than money in the back. Across the water they’re fetching a lot more than the uk market and I’m patient. All my cars go fully prepared and any dislikes by a potential buyer are dealt with on the individual deal that’s put together. It’s not just about the deal with these cars I have a genuine passion for them and always have. It’s a hard life knowing which one to take home Of a weekend.... Again thanks and all the members on here have been really positive if somewhat bewildered at why I had bought so many. Anyway I hope that’s now satisfied a few curiosities. All the best Dan.
It wouldn't surprise me to find out they're all customers cars being sold on commission .
I’d like to see that happen as well.... I do get your comments though. Maybe and hopefully in the near future. Typically we’d have all sold them and then they’ll go through the roof.....Hi Dan.
I’ve owned 3 3200’s and know them inside out. Prices are all over the place and I struggled to sell a great example for 11k early this year. I’ve got a manual car to sell and that is not easy. I keep hearing that prices will boom but I remain unconvinced as the 3200’s reputation proceeds it. I’d love to see them hike to Shamal prices! A 3200 when on song takes a lot of beating.
