I just wanted to put a post on here that people can find, as when I was searching, I struggled for conclusive info.
I've always wanted some kind of vehicle lift, but my current situation means I couldn't have a permanent fixture, as I need to be able to use the garage for other purposes as well.
That left me with Quickjack or Kwik lift (which is basically a copy of Quickjack based in the UK)
The proper lifting points for Granturismo are approximately 1650mm apart front to back, so you need the longer versions of these lifts and a rating of at least 2000kg.
That means at least E4G kwik lift KL2500 HE - https://kwiklifts.co.uk/product/kwik-lift-e4g-kl2500he-ac/
Or
Quickjack 5000TLX - https://quick-jack.co.uk/car-lifts/5000tlx/
All the specs of these are on their websites.
The quickjack above is 17mm longer at 1676mm than the kwik lift at 1659, but the later has a higher rating of 2500kg vs 2200kg of the quickjack.
There are few other little differences also.
Long story short, after speaking to both companies about possible discounts and confirming dimensions I ended with the E4G kwik jack KL3200. https://kwiklifts.co.uk/product/kwik-lift-e4g-kl3200e/
I basically got this for the same price as the ones mentioned above but it has a rating of 3200kg, which I see as safer for working under and as cars are only getting bigger and heavier, a bit more longevity.
I unboxed it this evening and tried it out, and I must say I'm well pleased.
It does only just reach the lifting points, but it's fine, and the rubber blocks spread the weight in the right area. The pale circles you can see in the pic are where my tesla jacking pads normally go.
It has two heights. The first is plenty high enough for removing wheels etc...
At the highest locking point the car is over half a meter in the air and there is more room under it than I expected.
Yes, for the same money you can get a 'proper' lift, but being able to put them away when I'm finished was a necessity for me.
So with that in mind, I'd recommend them to anyone considering.
