Nothing for sure Dem, just amassing the parts if it happens, it happens, if not, I can always sell the kit/parts on for someone else to do.

Morning gents.ok so a productive post from me here and never any more parts discussion .
I see that a 4200 rear end conversion might be on the cards here.
If so how do you guys intend to replicate the rear light pockets?
Looking at the ones removed it appears that if the 32 rear triangles od is larger than that of the 42 rear light could you not cut out the 42 rear triangle and let in the pocketed version thus saving all the curved sections?
Cheers. Rob.

Rob, the rear wings are the same profile. I have not seen my parts yet as they are up with one of our Cheshire members.

The original plan was to cut the complete rear corners off and graft the 3200's on but one of our Dutch members has worked out that you can do it much more simply.

If you look at the arch of the boomerangs they are also the same profile as the 4200 light so you can get away with less metalwork and loose the blend on the rear saving you having to paint the complete rear.

I have not looked at the inner gubbins and brackets yet but I would imagine its fairly straight forward.

How many times must i tell you young Matty , its just the light boxes you need to change , reason i told you to get them cut back was so you had room for drilling out the spot welds with out damaging anything gives you som, ething to hold to

please let me supervise when the time comes

Morning.yes that's the way I would go.its going to be tricky making a curved cut on the car itself.using a welded on steel template then cutting with the Plasmer tank out would be the way forwards.the boot would have to be in for line up then just the small matter of wiring!!!!sounds doable.rob

Has anyone a shot if the 4200 with the light removed..?

I can guarantee 100% that all one has to do is change the light boxes , and re install the quadrant from the 3200 , its really not that difficult , its getting the parts for the right money that makes it viable Rob ,

If you check on eurospares parts exploded views here http://www.eurospares.co.uk/userImages/004/Large/004_101.gif its numbered 3 , rear light box , thats all you need to house the lights and fit the quadrant after , it really is that simple , its getting it to be cost effective thats the problem but Mattiy' 3/4 on the way Rob and with your generosity he could well be home and dry

miles

thinking of going down the path of Boomerang - reversealble upgrade?

That's a great idea. Just think if you could come up with that as a kit, you would make £1,000's.......hum, I love it when a plan comes together!

You would have to have a join on the rear panel, but still a great idea.

Hello.i never really had any electrical dashboard related woes..just one with a lamppost before it could occur!how about 5 mil nylon milled to fit into the rear on the 42 light apature then bonded in.that way no cutting or welding .if its a tight fit (really good)and you didnt mind a slight gap then you could allways paint the insert and leave it at that....this is my game and I have a mill at home .so what do you think ?rob
