I guess this will just lead to more BEVs being 'sold' by dealers and then advertised as used demonstrators.
I could add a few cars to that list... remember the Honda Cube thing...It’s 16% YTD, so some work to be done.
I don’t want to alarm you, but to a significant majority of the population, cars are white goods. What else could explain the Nissan Qashqai?
Got to be honest, I haven't got the foggiest idea what you are talking about, and I've spent some time trying to think what you mean.Quite plainly you have done the salesmans job for him and sold it to yourself already .............another contributor to our throw away society , well done Keith , what do you want a pat on the back
Great you have picked the best of the bunch, When your fog finally clears you may understand where I'm coming from, Guy sums it up quite succinctly , Im not going to preach why EV's aren't the answer or the whole net zero agenda is not what it purports to be, only that it took one lone little innocent boy amongst all the kings courtiers to shout "what clothes I cant see them" as the King stood there as naked as can beGot to be honest, I haven't got the foggiest idea what you are talking about
Ridiculous post! You didn't once mention Aston Martin.Keith, no offence but I believe this is a forum for petrolheads who are motivated by beautiful lines drawn by Pininfarina or Bertone, screaming V12 Ferraris and V8 Maseratis, lovers of all things Alfa Romeo no matter how challenging that may have been in recent years or decades! Cars like Chinese EVs and Genesis from wherever in Asia do not and will never inspire. They are white goods by comparison. Potentially well made and useful but nobody I know will have their pulse raised at the sight or sound of either. They are the antithesis of the passion we share. Personally, I believe there is a strong case for EVs in certain circumstances but I am certain they are not the future. I doubt anyone here really cares about a 7 year warranty! I also doubt that anyone here will be excited by anything Kia, Hyundai or BYD will release next because they are not developed with the passion that cars made by Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa, Lotus, Alpine, Porsche, etc are. Only time will tell but I doubt people will go to museums to admire the EVs of the 2020s....
To Loz's point, EVs are and will be throw away as their residual values are lost so quickly that the cost of replacement batteries will write them off after 10 years or so. Who will pay 20k for a replacement battery in a Porsche hybrid after 8 years? I doubt very much they will be in productive use as my 20 and 30 year old cars are.
Corrected with sincere apologies! I also omitted TVR as I am sure that would start another huge thread drift!Ridiculous post! You didn't once mention Aston Martin.
Bloody heathen.
This ZEV mandate should be linked to the amount of charging stations available. If (and when) the Government fails to meet that target then these targets should be altered accordinglyIf Ford sells 100k cars per year then to still sell that amount they need to sell 22k EV’s this year. By 2028 to maintain sales of 100k cars they will need to sell 52k EV’s. They are going to have to persuade a lot of people who just want a white goods car to spend a lot more on it….
Maybe if they manage to persuade 35k people by then they’ll just have to be content with only selling 67k cars per year, a 33% drop.

Whilst you state your position quite succinctly, I'm afraid to say, and with the greatest of respect (after all anybodies opinion is as valid as anyone else's), your argument has been heard before. When I bought my Ghibli Diesel in 2015 this site had many proclaiming Maseratis latest efforts - the Ghibli and QP weren't proper Maseratis, and the fitting of a Diesel engine was hereasy! Then with Levente, how could a proper Maserati be an SUV.Keith, no offence but I believe this is a forum for petrolheads who are motivated by beautiful lines drawn by Pininfarina or Bertone, screaming V12 Ferraris and V8 Maseratis, lovers of all things Alfa Romeo no matter how challenging that may have been in recent years or decades! Joining the electric car club and owning a maserati or other sports car produced with passion shouldn't be mutually ex
Mutually exclusive. As Ewan said having both covers all bases
Oh curses, I've just 'liked' an EV.........To indulge my vanity, a few pictures of said Genesis…
