No problem John. I'll put it down to an excess of festive cheer.. Will certainly be interested to do some SCD stuff this coming year. 2014 was a bit hectic for me and I did not manage to do any events - not even my normal Sporting Bears stuff. My poor Spyder has only covered a few hundred miles between MOTs, and if it wasn't for the fact that the Granturismo is now my daily driver I'd have forgotten what it was like to drive a Maserati! Hopefully 2015 will be better.

Hi Andy

Hope to see another Maserati at Sporting Bear events next year :D If not many more - it is such a hoot.

I've seen plenty of "supercars" running around without any kind of front plate - Ferrari 458's seem to be a particular favourite, so figure that with the actual letters being the correct size, and given there is nowhere else to sensibly put a plate, I am going to take my chances.

I was thinking of taking mine off and leaving it in the boot. Problem is the brackets are already fitted so would need to find a neat way to cover the holes so not sure. Wish they hadn't fitted it..

A lot of people take it off and leave it in the glove box and say it has fallen off. So they don't get fined.

I made absolutely sure that GP didn't fit the cheap and nasty bracket by removing it from the car when it first arrived at the dealers. They were all told in no uncertain terms NOT to drill the splitter. I figure that I can't be fined for not displaying a plate, only that it isn't absolutely compliant. I think the police are well aware of the problems of fitting front plates to this type of car and are fairly casual about it. Looking at the La Ferrari yesterday, there is nowhere to fit a plate sensibly. I'll just have to see how it goes, I'll have a pukka plate in the boot just in case.

Only got another 14 hours and 6 minutes to wait, seriously excited now. Sadly we still have 3 inches of frozen snow all around, and whilst the main roads are relatively clear, our lane is a nightmare. I can get down it, but will never get back up if I do venture out. Just hoping the forecast is correct and we get a thaw.

Read back a bit Matt; it's been sitting at Yetti's house for nearly two weeks! awaiting Jan 1st...

Yeti; Give your local council a call and say you have a VIP visit and could they kindly send a gritter up the lane? It might work...

No alcohol for yeti tonight he will be having a maserati buzz. Having that car parked at your home and not being allowed to drive it. Don't think I could of held on like that. Too much temptation.

To be honest, it's been so long since I've had a Maser that I am worried it might be all a bot of an anti-climax. HAH! What bollox, it will be awesome.

Final decision will depend on the thaw, so either 1 second past midnight, or very early tomorrow morning.

To right it will when I haven't driven mine for a week getting in and pressing the start button is awesome.

I remember that feeling a year ago when I got the Strad. Went straight to Heathow the next day and spent the week in Canada thinking about the drive home......

7,000 miles in 1 year later,,,,,,, and trying to force myself not to drive her as much as I have.

New tyres are on the horizon in the next few weeks for sure..... Squirming in this weather a little too much for my liking.

CHM???? Not sure what/where this is. Either way, I'm sure we now have enough members to start an East Midlands section.

Defffo up for a meet this year :thumb3:

Stunning car BTW, hope you had a fun day driving today...

I can get across for an East Mids meet. Let me know when and where it's at and I'll try and come along. Hopefully sometime after April as mine is off the road until then. I'm avoiding the snow, ice and salt this year!
