Italian Magic..

Been thoroughly enjoying my new 4200 and have found it to be such a different character car after the 3200. However one thing has been niggling me and that was the rear window demister and wing mirror demisting didn't work.

Checked fuses.. fine.

Checked relays.. fine.

Tore rear interior out to check wiring to window.. fine.

Removed centre console to check button wiring.. fine.

Argh...

Now as if by magic it also works fine too.

So no matter what people say they improved from the 3200 to the 4200.. magic electronics isn't one of them :)

my rear window demister has been broken for 9 years and i gave up, good luck. I changed the relays and repaired the electrical contacts on to the window heater wires, and it still didn't work. I just don't think they need demisters in Italy so its not important. check the resistance between the two contacts on the window, it should be like 12 ohms or maybe 20 ohms but not much, if its high then the heater element is broken. Also try the relay in the boot, all the OEM relays die after a while.

Davy, as I mentioned it magically fixed itself. I think there was a dodgey connector behind the info centre somewhere and pulling it apart and putting it back seems to have sorted it.
