Your car is gorgeous. I love that wheel design. Any photos of the inside, and how does it compare to the 4200?

Obviously not everyone agrees with the wheel colour! I'm not usually a fan of dark wheels, must admit, but silver just doesn't work with the white imho.
I'll dig it out of the garage at the weekend (which is no easy task, it's lower & wider than the 4200) in fact I realise what a practical family orientated car the 4200 was. I'll take a few snaps & post then.
Only really driven the car back from the dealer, mostly because of the **** weather & in part because I've F#%ked my back.
But first impressions, totally different beast than the 42, it's like getting in a plastic bucket, but once in it's fairly spacious & surprising comfortable, doesn't bump & crash over potholes. Not spoilt with gadgets or cubby holes. Nothing seemed to rattle or want to fall off. Wind noise is minimal under about 90, but the engine is loud just behind your left lug hole. But when crusing off the gas it's sensible.
Probably not much in it performance wise from a standstill, but the in gear shove is hilarious. Certainly not missing the extra 150 odd bhp. Geared quite long as well 80mph sits around 2500-2800rpm as apose to about 4000 in the 42. Appears to have a load of torque over the 4200 (not sure how this is on paper) always felt you had to really rev the 42 to wake it up....not a criticism. Guess this is the difference between NA and being blown.
I think the twisty stuff will be where it shines. I'll find out at the weekend!

It’s hard to tell in a photo. I was convinced that my wheels needed redoing in graphite, but in the flesh satin black works well and doesn’t lose the design of the wheels. That’s not to say that when they inevitably need a re-furb I won’t drop down a shade or two.

Bugger about your back, though. Iboprofen is your friend.

Anyway, I very much look forward to having a good poke round the car in about 68 days.

Ditto (80's film reference there)

Finding the Tramadol, is working a treat....oh hang on a blue giraffe has just stopped for a chat.

The bad back won't be an issue at Le Mans. Most of your body will be comfortably numb through alcohol abuse.

Best start practicing now, might also ease the back. Ere Geoff I here there is some sort of motor event going on around the same time as our drinking holiday. Maybe check it out :D

Really? What sort of event? I know thousands of p!ss heads with loud motors descend on Le Mans every year.
But I thought that was just because they’d been doing it for years.

Not really sure, I hear some Spanish bloke is looking to change his luck...I think I saw this pair on a qualifying lap last year!

That was f*cking hilarious!

Just shows how well they made them in the factory. The only reason Miles edged ahead because I hit the Rev limiter in 5th.
Oh. And the car coming the other way!

Now with stripe. I couldn't resist.

IMG_4268.jpg

Well, two stripes. I decided only doing one side would be strange.

Had a cracking drive back from the detaily / stripey place. Avoided all boring roads as much as possible and stuck to the twisties. Well, mostly stuck; I'm delighted at how squirrely this car gets when you give the loud pedal a shove. Keeps you oin your toes, in a good way.

Yes, just a red stripe* on each of the side strakes, plus the roof, headlights and lower front bumper PPF wrapped.

Crofty - nooooo! That's a bit early in the whole ownership experience. Hopefully a fast fix.

Some pictures to follow.
