Is this a correct price for a Spyder Manual?

It's an 06 so one of the last and pretty sure you could spec GS wheels too.

But why it has classic front I don't know???

GS wheels ??

I looked over a green 4200 Spyder in St.Albans last year. It is still available for sale and is a mish-mash of all sorts of parts. 4200 classic rear bumper and wheels. GS front bumper? Or facelift maybe - don't know enough to tell the difference. GS side skirts. Non Maserati colour re-spray. Oh - and a replacement speedo "because the original had cracked". Taken in part exchange with little or no history available to check. Something didn't smell right so walked away.

Navcorr - that car is still for sale. It certainly is a miss-mash of various Maserati cars/parts. Not one for the purists.

looking again at the pictures, the rear of the car does not correspond to a facelift model....also classic back...seems the car was a pre facelift model (with GS wheels) but registered in 2006?

I don't think the price is justified

That was one thought. The other thought was accident repaired. The P/X was with an Irish guy who apparently rocked-up with it one day. Either the garage owner was being coy or genuinely didn't know that much. Thanks to the forum I went armed with sufficient knowledge to beat a hasty retreat.

Was in Wales yesterday looking over a nice looking Spyder. Went knowing that the high mileage was potentially an issue but had thought the cosmetic condition warranted a viewing. It is nicely kept, not as good as suggested, but nice. The problem was the mechanicals. Most of the important bits have never been changed - save for one shock absorber. Again with very little service history and, at 100K miles, I felt it represented too much of a risk.

My Spyder will be for sale in the next few weeks, well known on here

The fact it has pre-facelift bumpers and GS wheels would concern me to a degree, but I suspect that you'd just find it's a 2006 reg, but earlier built car (can you find that out with the chassis number on these?) and GS wheels spec'd. Perhaps one of the last pre-facelifts where they could spec GS wheels..

The price.. It's a difficult thing. I mean, these are pretty rare cars, there won't be many with so little miles - it could even be the lowest distance on any that remain, so in that sense, unique. I think if you're looking for a ridiculously low miles car like tat, you want to stick it in a collection, stare at it and maybe pick it up and dust underneath it occasionally - it's an ornament, not a car.
If you want one to use, I'd say that it's probably horrifically overpriced, and would likely need some money spent to make it a good one - cars generally like to move once i a while!

, but the price

I couldn't agree more!

The problem with so few miles is that it will have suffered as a result. Hoses, belts, seals will all have deteriorated and so if you wanted to use it it would take some extensive "reactivating" if you wanted to be sure you weren't damaging it.
It has, as others have said, become an ornament.
My own spyder now has 62k miles on it and it is going better than ever. These cars really do like use.

Always fear these low mileage over priced machines. You can't use them because you aid a premium for the mileage, loads of bits especially bearings and bushes will be fecked so you end up with losing which ever way unless of course you just sit and look at it.

Cars should be used, my SZ & Spyder to a degree are better for there regular use neither has silly mileage 53 & 63k respectively and both well serviced annually

This is the car I went to see:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Maserati-...778452?hash=item43ffb3bdd4:g:TxMAAOSwhQhYxGyV

The seller had advertised this last year but it didn't sell. Having subsequently contacted him I was advised they had decided to keep it. Although a sale could be a possibility. Having recently arranged a viewing date I discovered the seller had re-advertised a week or so before visiting. Which he was perfectly entitled to do but a courtesy note would have been appreciated. I was subsequently advised he had been inundated with interest.

Upon visiting it quickly became apparent the car was most definitely not in concours condition. It has some light damage to the underside of the front bumper. Which can be seen from 20' away. When mentioned it was described as a scuff. Several parts of the clear-bra leave a bit to be desired. A number of cosmetic marks to the interior but nothing serious. Sticky buttons and the typical roof marks where it rubs when stored. To repeat, the car is not in "concours condition throughout".

The seller claims to have no knowledge of age/mileage related issues. For example, the heater core has not been attended to. If I recall the limited service print out only the F1 pump has been changed - all others are original. All parts of the exhaust system and 3/4 of the shock absorbers have 100K miles on them. One shock was changed at Emblem last year with, I think, an owner supplied part. I had already made my decision so didn't bother to check. Neither did I bother looking underneath nor arrange an inspection.

There have clearly been issues with the gearbox which, again, Emblem attended to last year. They have also had to attend to the front under tray which they have re-attached "as best as possible" due to missing fixing points. I believe the seller only has one key too.

For me it was an easy decision to walk away.
