On a Beatles, Sinead O’ Connor theme I went to a show at the Albert Hall in 1999 called ‘A Concert For Linda’. It was a tribute concert for Linda McCartney. On the bill was Lyndon David Hall(sadly died at a young age too), Elvis Costello,Neil Finn, Sinead O’Connor, George Michael, The Pretenders and of course Paul McCartney. Anyway up to this point I had been quite dismissive of George Michael but he did a version of The Long And Winding Road, absolutely fantastic. Stole the show.

Didn't have any use for Wham! but thought George Michael got more fascinating as he went. His voice was always a marvel, and lost too soon as well.
