IPOD integration, USB, and Jukebox problems

Afternoon all
My Multi Media (oh the irony) System is driving me nuts.

I have Granturismo S, 2011, with full USB and aux socket in glove box connected to an ipod classic using the Maserati "Y" cable.

Up to date my ipod has worked with full functionality. However it would regularly drop the ipod source so I would either need to reconnect ipod to the cable or keep toggling "source" until IPOD reappeared. Annoying but I could live with it.

However last week the head unit stopped "seeing" the ipod. Toggling "source" would only cycle from radio to CD player. No ipod, no Jukebox, no USB ? Tried another IPOD nano, no joy.

The ipod will work if I activate the AUX socket through the car menu but then I lose the functionality and need to control tracks on the ipod itself.

Then I tried to plug in a USB drive with MP3 files (fat32 format) , but nothing.

At first I suspected the cable had gone faulty, but if that was the case why will the USB stick not play which bypasses the cable. ARRRRH.

Does any body have an old ipod cable I could buy?

Failing that if there a preferred method to connect an iphone 10 and maintain head unit controls on tracks etc ?

Thanks.

Thanks Hoyin
I sorted the original problem. Simply a loose fitting jack socket in the glovebox.
I will take a look at the BOVEE Bluetooth kit so I can hook up my iphone. The only problem with some of the Bluetooth devices I have looked at is that they can't be controlled from the headunit or steering wheel controls?
I notice the BOVEE one says it can, but some of the reviews say not?
