Invisible mobile speed camera motorbikes

Close shave yesterday, but thanks to the flashes from on-coming traffic leaving a spot where there is quite often the big white speed camera van we weren't speeding. But the van wasn't there!! Instead a bit further up the road, tucked well into the verge, a really hard to spot motorbike. Hum - if more are deployed a lot more speeding motorists will be caught.

Were you in Worcestershire? They’ve had that for at least 5 years, used to be a Deauville, think they got a BMW now.

Severn Stoke and by the old cinema in town are favourites

Sneaky.. Not has sneaky as Oz though when we saw a camouflaged wheel bin with a speed trap, now that's really unsporting. I'm surprised they didn't have another unmarked car or bike fining those who flashed a warning.

I once spotted a copper hiding in the hedge by the Croes Howell end of the Straight mile Llay-Rossett. Cheeky buggers.

I see this fairly regularly

If the police have set a "speed trap" then they will pick you up on the Gatso and then will have to pull you over to fine you and probably give you a producer if you are not carrying all of your documents

The speed enforcement vans work more like a mobile (fixed) speed camera where once caught you get a letter in the post

It's boring now, when I was a young'un the rozzers actually had to catch you. And when they did they gave you a good bloody talking to. BOOO! ;)

Somerset have a bike, he sets up a camera and the first you know of it is when the ticket arrives, be especially careful if your attending 'Haynes breakfast meets' that's a favourite for them.

Somerset has plenty of bikes from memory. Never caught a ticket though. ;)

North Yorks police are terrible - they must have some really good Xmas parties the number of speed camera vans they have. Also high up on issuing penalty notices for Covid contraventions!

There used to be a camera van regularly on the M6 in Cumbria, southbound , it was the perfect spot for them , a long LH bend on a downward hill with a bridge at the perfect spot
Even if you weren't intentionally speeding the hill would add enough to earn you a ticket
I knew it would probably be there but saw many front suspension dips over the years, too late mate, he's got you

Seen that there before. No idea how I did not get done though.

I used to drive around 60k miles a year in the early 90's with my job and it was always a game of proper cat & mouse then - I was forever getting stopped on the M74 in my company Sierra. On one occasion though I was in my own Porsche 944 Turbo local to home - after booting it down a 2 mile dead straight single carriageway A road with one eye in the mirror I was surprised to see something rapidly appearing behind me - a maroon 3.0 24v Senator - it came from nowhere. Given that I'd probably touched around 100+ I was soon back down to 60.......on came the flashing lights in the grill and I pulled over.

Plod came over and asked how fast I'd been going - 'Well, obviously nowhere near as fast as you officer' raised a smile and he let me off! Ah, the good old days :)

I do think some coppers , especially traffic get it , if you're driving fast in a performance car but safe as in not on a busy motorway there's at least a chance they might just bollock you.

I was in Scotland coming back on the A74 , in the roadworks when they were upgrading it to a motorway , it went on for miles nobody was working, the road was empty, 4 of us all doing 70 in the 50

I didn't even see the cop car until it came past the line of cars , luckily I was 3 of 4 and he stopped the ringleader at the front , we were all doing 49 until the end after that though
