Seriously considering selling my GTS soon to fund an AP Royal Oak watch and a C63 shooting brake. Purely for appreciation purposes.

Anybody done similar?

You might be okay with the Royal Oak, but surely the C63 is only going down in value? (Though I know next to nothing about AMG cars.)

Which C63 ? 6.2 N/A or the twin turbo ?
The oak is one of those watches which has a following and desire so I understand why your thinking this way.

What sort of growth would you expect from the car and watch?

Would hope it’s a meaningful ROI unless you’re done enjoying the GTS (which happens).

The watch would yield 5% min over a 3-5 year period. Not great at today’s interest rates but when things settle, which they will, maturity of the asset will continue to rise.

The C63 notion is simply giving me ‘something else’ to enjoy while grasping at the hope of it becoming a future classic. Well kept low mile examples have also appreciated.

If its appreciation your after and a main concern , I'd suggest deposits and buying 3 houses for rental purposes ......which is akin and as exciting to watching paint dry or kettles boiling, both the watch and the AMG seem a gamble to me, think i'd have more fun at ladbrookes or bet fred ..............the GTS on the other hand gives a far greater adrenalin rush ............unless your board with it

5% over 3 years is pretty low ROI in my opinion. Early C63’s will be sought after but they’re plentiful so can’t appreciate a great deal. Also an incredibly dull and depressing place to be after a few years in a GT.
