I'm looking to move a GS from Melb to Brisbane. Given the diaspora of us Mexicans into the sunshine state, some freight operators are taking this opportunity to gouge on prices.
Thus far CEVA logistics have quoted almost 2k for covered transport with 110mm ground clearance, although I believe the GS sits factory at only 100mm.
Another provided a quote for 880 depot to depot, but said if I couldn't fit an upright coke can under the car, they'd probably damage it in transit. So they can take their coke can and do the proverbial Jennifer keyte with it.
So at this stage, as much as I don't want to put a sudden 2k on the clock, and petrol, wear and tear, time, risk and hotels aside....it looks like I may have to drive it north. Still, a late summer's drive along the Pacific in the Spyder.... there's probably worse outcomes that might befall me.
If anyone has used and can recommend a freight operator to move cars up or down East coast, please let me know.
