Hi all. Other half is thinking about selling the 2008 GT. Currently a full service history but it is due for the 30k service. We were thinking about an Indy service. I think Birmingham are constantly recommended? Any advice/alternatives before I look to book in? Thanks

Shiltech in Loughborough are reasonably priced, and well respected, so won’t harm resale value.

they will also give you a lift to/from the train station which is handy.

Migliore Cars: these were the clowns claiming a used rear screen was worth £4K. They seem to just see pound signs...

Only had good experiences with Migliore.

What was the deal with the rear screen?

Stupid person... we are near Swindon. (Partway between Bristol and London). That probably would have helped! I was thinking Birmingham as its near (1.5hrs) and I could drive it up first thing and go shopping for the day :DThanks :)

If I was based there, I'd go to our very own SportsItalia near Southampton.

Tim, You were at no point quoted £4k for a rear screen (Which was for your 4200, not a GT, and for which Screens were not available at the time). That was the only price we had been given to go by for one at the time, and as was explained to you on multiple occasions, we were awaiting confirmation of an independent valuation on the screen in order to ensure that we were being as fair as we possibly could. You were asked to call back and speak to Vic to discuss for a final price, which you never did. We were therefore never able to give you a proper "quote" and assumed that you had sourced a screen elsewhere, which we very much hope you were able to do so. If not, please don't hesitate to give us a call and we will be happy to discuss accordingly.

Anyone who has used our services, or bought used parts from Vic will know that he is more than reasonable on our used part prices, and we pride ourselves on honesty. This is why we had asked for an independent valuation on the screen.
I'm disappointed that you feel it necessary to post such a comment, especially given the fact that the only reason you appear to have come to this conclusion is that you apparently decided not to follow this up with us.

Regards,
James, Migliore Cars.

You told me it was what you sold the last one for...!
We didnt get to a quote did we - and I havent said anything further here, because I am not in the habit of making issues where I dont have to by speculating about the motives or machinations of others when I can simply walk away.
I was not in a position to pay anything like £4K for a used glass, and I told you that at the time. The idea that you were waiting for me to call back is vaguely ridiculous, given I had made myself, I thought, quite clear...
Yes, I did get sorted..and for a lot less than that- thank you !

I've also heard good things about Migliore from Franky W Hand of this parish. But given the location of the OP SportsItalia does sound pretty close. As far as I can fathom, you'd not go wrong with either.

I used Migliore in Bromsgrove for several years to look after my old QPV, and always found them to be helpful, trustworthy and good value. I would definitely recommend. I only switched to SportsItalia because Matt sourced my 'new' QPV and so it made sense to get him to look after it.

I can vouch for Vic and James at Migliore Cars Bromsgrove. I've used them for various services on my Gransport over the last 8 years and always found them friendly, knowledgeable and reasonably priced.

In my experience they have always been able to assist with any issues I've had and saved me much unnecessary expense along the way.

I've only good things to say about them.

Thanks all. Its a 2008 GT. It was previously Maserati serviced at 5k, 10k, 15k, 20k and 25k.
We have owned it for 4 years and driven approx 1000 miles in the last 4 years (SORNed in winter).
Its now just clocked 30k, would you want to see a 30k service stamp if you saw it up for sale next year?
Thanks for any input :)

Hmm, is a 14/15 year old car with 5 services; by the book it should have had one every 2 years regardless of milage, so it is already out of sync and may not be one for the purists. So, in answer to the question above I would say yes as a minimum but the damage to 'sale' desirability is probably already done.
