Today is The Day! I will shortly be united with my new(to me) Maserati. As experienced by many on here, I have been unable to get much sleep and the excitement getting noticed around my office. I did not need coffee today... at all!!!
I have not shared the news yet with anyone at work because it might bring undue attention and scrutiny to who gets paid what:blushed:
I will eventually but for now the experience is to be shared only with family and friends away from work and of course with all people here with a common passion.

Looking forward to a long (150 miles) drive back home all on my own and the forecast is sunny:excellent:.
Photos as soon as I stop trembling. Thanks to all here again for getting me to this stage.

I had the same concern bringing mine into work. Don't be put off, you've worked hard and I'm sure you deserve it.

Its up to other people how they spend their cash. You'll get bad press but for the most part, attention will be positive.

I am home!:auto15:
It was a very thrilling and emotional drive back. Even enjoyed being stuck in traffic. Drove in Manual + Sport all the time as suggested by the previous owner who spent best part of 2 hours making sure I got everything right and was happy. I got a box full of memorabilia and books.
The acceleration is to me like a proper take off. The sound you get with it makes you giggle like a girl would if she found Brad Pitt naked in her bedroom.
And then you get the pops on slow down along with the burble. I was lucky to get a couple tunnels and the noise in 2/3 gear sent a chill down my spine.
I was given way to change lanes, followed and at one point I am sure a girl driving alone took her top off in stationary M25 traffic. :alan4: I presume it was to boost her Vitamin D figures but she kept smiling at me. We had a relationship going for near about 15 minutes/ 2 miles. Like stuck in traffic buddies.

But I got bored and belted away as soon as the road cleared to get more of MY MAS.

At home the kids wanted to see and hear and I duly obliged. I think they are bit a bit as the sound was a bit too loud for their liking.
Now can't wait for the weekend:numberone:

Congratulations on a lovely looking car. I have to say that in that colour, these cars are ageing very well and the front end in particular is screaming future classic car. The QP had unusual and distinctive looks when it was launched and stood out amongst its contemporaries at the time, which I think is why it is ageing better than they have. Well done and enjoy the weekend!

It looks great and if it had the effect of a girl feeling the need to expose herself to you, it must be a good one indeed - enjoy!

Thanks All. I have sat outside with a beer after coming back from office just to look at it today! Its like trying to re-assure myself I have a Maserati on my driveway. Its not a dream anymore.
I plan to give it a good clean and polish this weekend. It will be the first time in many years I will get my hands dirty but worth it!
