Yep buy it mate and fettle the exhaust, the QP sounds awesome when it can breathe properly, you won't regret it although make an offer pending an inspection as I would want to get variators checked out. I can recommend Emblem but they are very busy.

Update: I have gone and seen it. The condition is very good and there is very little wear/ tear cosmetically. The car drives very planted with no rattles and felt quick enough. I have seen the paperwork and all seems to be as it should be.
I have come back with a window of tonight to make up my mind.
Only thing I felt was that it was a bit quieter than expected. The sport button does not make audible difference. I know the 4.7 GTS is a real big leap on this, but still. The owner did explain that in upper revs its quite a thrilling noise.
What to do? If I buy this, it is a peace of mind purchase. Are there any sensibly priced options to bring out a bit more audible drama out of it?
The dealer who has the red QP Sport GT has been in touch but wont move much price wise. Even after I explained there is a lot more available for similar money.
So Red Sport GT (2007) Vs Cheaper Very Dark Grey Sport GTS (2008).

Buy it...this sounds like a great buy.. QP SPort GTS for this money doesn't come up often...Looks great to.....Sounds like a good one.For me the red one isn't worth it.....GTS is the better car hands down.

Have you bought it yet, Sommi?

x-pipe will set you back about £250. Best £250 you'll ever spend. Other than on petrol.

:goodnews:Done!
The car is mine pending inspection for which I have yet to look around and arrange.
I am baffled at the quickness I have shown based on the pointers on here. The only thing which time was trying to convince the dominant half that this was the right thing and the only thing to do.
I thank you all and would try to understand the passion you share as I start the ownership.
Andy, I thank you for bringing on advert to my attention which really sparked this rather quick viewing and hence the purchase.

Now if anyone can suggest who I should call on for the inspection, it would be much appreciated. As the car has been dealt with by HR Owen throughout, would it be wise to engage them for this?

The X-pipe: Where can I get this done? If the cost 250 GBP only for part or does it include labour? I would like it done very much before I start the ownership. Please suggest where to get this done.
Thanks everyone once again!:broke: yet feeling :numberone:

Congrats Sommi! Welcome to the Fold and the family on here!!! :)

The only thing you will regret about this purchase is the fact that you have never had a Maserati before! We live and learn but once we are prodded by the Trident it will remain with us for ever!

Thanks Phil.
The Lexus did serve the purpose of being there whenever it was required, never gave any trouble and did not cost a fortune even though it is a 4 Litre V8.
It kept my hyper twins reasonably calm and they sleep quite quickly in the peace and quite.
Maserati is going to wake everyone up for good!

Andy, I have checked the details for Brunty and I am taking my parents away on holiday all through that week. But I will keep an eye on other events as they come up and make an effort to be there.

Good on you.

There's lots of place that can do an inspection. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with the list of UK specialists.

Exhaust is a must have. Get it done asap.

Well done, Sommi, very good news.

Regarding the x-pipe I got mine via Autoshield in Manchester and fitted elsewhere while the car was in for some other work. BennyD is the man to talk to.

As for the inspection someone will be along with a recommendation close to you. Remind me, where's the car coming from?

Thanks Adam. I will inquire from them and see if I can get one shipped over. Is there a specific brand I should go for or is it just a standard x-pipe? Hopefully someone in or around the Surrey area would be able to do it.
The car is local to London area and the current owner is from near Battersea. The car has been sold to him and serviced by HR Owen.

Thanks Benny. I have heard about your loud-mobil and seen a few videos. Very impressive and a joy to hear.

Adam has pointed me in your direction as I have been advised to put an x-pipe to improve the aural pleasures on the QP GTS. Please advise when you can how to get this and if possible from where to get it fitted?
Many Thanks.

HOUR Owen have a decent reputation so you could go back to them to check the car over as they will know it well. If you would prefer to have a fresh set of eyes take a look, Joe Macari are nearby.
Good luck & I hope the inspection doesn't throw up anything untoward

Sommi, the more I think about this one and the price...the more it feels to me you have got yourself one of the best buys this year...as long as the inspection doesn't bring anything up that is.......Well done buddy....

You're right Andy, I know they're different cars but half the price of a Granturismo S - SO much car for your money. These really are a bargain, and this one especially. Good spot

Looking at the car you bought it looks similar to the Top Gear car they tested (although that was probably a newer 2010 4.7GTS model) and I don't remember them being so cheap!!!!

Food for thought.

Stunning car.
