Spent an hour early this evening doing a bit of prep before Brunty this weekend. I'll be replacing my discs and pads all round soon as these are definitely on their way out. Thought I'd drill out the crud in the holes of the disc to make them as efficient as possible, also noticed small heat cracks appearing around the holes on the front discs - this is why the 550 discs are better with the countersunk holes.
My issues began when I started cleaning the discs and calipers after clearing out the muck (amazing how much cr@p comes out!)
then decided to coat the calipers in wheel sealant and wax. I then went further than my OCD has ever taken me before when I decided to give the wheels a good clean off the car. I used various cleaners, tar remover, iron-x and then clayed the inside of the wheels - yes, clayed them! They were quite bad so I'm glad I did it.
Wax and sealant and they're looking good again!
