I had a ride from Heathrow to central London in one of those new S350s. Awesome. Absolutely brilliant car. Boring as crarp on the outside but the interior was sumptuous, comfortable and a glorious place to be. Pretty spritely performance, too.

Couldn't see the point of a coupe, though. I had no desire to drive the thing. The S63AMG could be a different kettle of fish, though.

I had an E class as a hire car once.....First time I had driven a big Merc and I must say I understood why they sell so well...Wafted along, comfy and effortless...

I regularly drive a brand new e series, bloody horrible thing.... I had a Mondeo 15 years ago that had more charm...

My car prior to this was <hangs head> an E350D convertible. Quite utterly bereft of character.
Thank goodness you've seen the light before it was too late, Adam. You were heading down a very dark and dull road!

It really was, MAF. Driving was a functional exercise, a car a purely utilitarian device by which one could move from A to B, in complete tedium.

Not now!

The bigger "S" class are not bad, but the rest you could be sat in anything that cost half the price..!!
