I like your car

So, we're just back from a trip to the "end of the road" in bonnie Scotland. On our way up we were coming to the end of a dual carriageway on the A9 with those lovely average speed cameras. There was a truck and 3 lorries in front, plenty of room to pass before the end unless the truck pulled out, It didn't so I merrily passed it. Then I noticed that the truck had slowed slightly to let me pass and then pulled out behind me. Now for him to pass the lorries was going to probably be a little tight so I had to speed for him to do so. He did it but only just.
At the next cafe we both pulled in. My wife and I started walking but the young (compared to us) lady passenger was clearly keen to have a convenience break. She quickly went to one obvious building to find it was a gift shop, then she went upstairs to the cafe to no avail as the toilets were down. Then as we approached the stairs she reappeared to stop, point at me and say "I like your car", then carried on her merry way.
Now that was one of three comments in as many days about the car we had up there, but for sure, that was the strangest one we've ever had.

If there were more maseratis about the world would be a happier place because more people would talk to each other.

Even driving something as mundane as a defender people will stop and talk to me if it's parked, probably because all the euro boxes look the same

Its a car that people do like, my best one was on my way home from the Modena run i pulled up to get on the ferry and the German Ferrari club also joined the queue, an impressive collection of Ferraris, and a french guy came over to me and said l like your car better than any of these, its got real class. I am not sure i agreed totally at that moment i would have swapped it gladly for several of the prancing ponies, but it was really nice and its constant people admiring it, although the lady who loved it and got her photo taken sitting on the front of it, should have stayed off the pies, as i had to get the front bumper repaired after that.

Title reminded me of the line in "Lock, Stock..." by Vinnie Jones "Harry likes your bar" - one wouldn't want him liking your car...

Strange Mrs Z has just returned from a food and alcohol restocking run where she was accosted by a gentleman who said "I want to buy your car will you sell it to me?" when she declined he insisted she take his phone number just in case she changed her mind. She was in the Alfa GT and apparently the gentleman has been looking for a 3.2 GT for sometime and as soon as Mrs Z fired ours up he heard it and was over like a shot to chance his arm.
