Thought about parting with my 4200 recently due to being so busy with work and bought a more adequate daily (RR Vogue) but after taking her out today my gosh she still manages to take my breath away and won't be going anywhere!

Ditto on all the above, the lack of parts production by Maserati is quite worrying but I'm sure there's enough garden shed engineers on here to keep our cars moving!

Just today I watched an episode of car sos where they were rebuilding a lotus from the 60s
They simply walked to a lotus specialist store and got a windshield, a tail light and a wheel hub.

Brand spanking new for a car that is over 40 years old and also produced in short numbers.

Why can't we get some parts after only 10 years just sickens me.

I know how you feel, the sensible option for me is to sell the Spyder but when has sense and car ownership ever gone together.

As Dicky will know, I came close to doing the rationale thing with my car recently, and then bottled it when not owning it started to become a reality. Good choice to hold onto you beauty.

I recently spent two weeks away with work, talk about "absence makes the heart...". First drive after I got back I was marvelling at the power, comfort and quality again.

But being logical for a moment, considering the performance, quality and exclusivity, what else can you buy that is comparable for the money? At some point I'll want a change for change's sake, but no clue what I will replace it with..

Fully agree with Mike though, these are complex cars and the lack of replacement parts (even hoses) is going to test the resolve of a lot of owners over the next 5 years.

This may be true, which is why forums like these work as the problems can be solved - I work in a business where the attitude is "there is nothing broken that can't be fixed" until the only economical solution is replacement, admit its not complex V8 engines but you get where I am coming from.
