How much should a good detail cost?

A good clean, sort out swirls etc in the paint, some really good wax or sealant or whatever magical stuff these guys use. You know the sort of thing. Prices seem to vary from a couple of hundred pounds to a couple of thousand. And I'm not in the market for paying a couple of thousand!

And if anyone can recommend a detailer in Essex or Suffolk or London that would be perfect. One with their own premises.

My man did mine plus dents for circa £400. I can get you a price if you wish Adam?

That's more like it! I looked at a couple in London and they were coming out around £800 plus the VAT. Where's your chap based, Phil?

Thanks Phil. £280 for all four wheels is pretty good (I assume it's all four?). The finish on mine didn't last well last time - picked up lots of stone chips which need dealing with.

If you could get a price from him please that'd be great. It's in pretty good nick already. Just needs some sweet love to bring it back to bloody good.

Look at the GT in the gallery I added and you will also see mine.

I will bell him now and get a rough price and then if you are interested can put you in touch with him.

for you protection see if you can get crystal serum applied, its a must have add on and so impressive... dirt has a hard job bonding to the car making it easy to clean therefore less contact to the paintwork, its also easy to dry, just need a slow running hose

I had mine done at weekend by an old Alfa buddy in Essex. He did a light correction detail, removing the swirls and minor marks. Prepared the paint for a wax of my choice as I like that part, he had lots of very nice smelling wax that you could choose from. He did the interior and engine bay all for £200 but that is mates rates. I know he is looking for more business and is on here under beautifulbusso I think

Can't help in London, but down here in Dorset, Jake via Emblem does a splendid job. Priced depends on the job, but think in the region of £500 and you won't be far off.

Had my Jalpa done yesterday, absolutely cracking job, he spent 6 hours on the paintwork of the car and charged me £240.00. He is mobile so came to me in his van, I will post pictures in the Lambo section a bit later if interested.

For wheel refurbishment for a top notch job the only people I would use are Pristine.
