Felonious Crud;604960]Old skool! And finally, something I actually understand.

Her in doors Dad makes over 800k a year before taxes for doing absolutely nothing, he's a clever bugger..

10k a week is nothing down there in the summer.

So how does a couple of derelict properties in Menton bought in the early 70's and another two in Cap Martin and in Nice generate over 500k a year without doing a thing?

Dave
Unfortunately I wasn't earning enough when I was 4 to buy property.

Back to answering the question of the original thread......

I have done cash and I have done finance over different cars.

With the Strad, I did not want to stick GBP117,000 into a depreciating asset 4 years ago especially as we were gearing up to completley re-do our 600 year old house (aka the 347K cash money pit) so I took Maserati finance and I am really pleased to say that this month is my final payment and then I owe nothing on the car....

It’s actually a nice feeling to have kept the car from new and gone through the monthly pain barrier all the way to the end...

Now my stupid brain is going,,,, “if I don’t owe anything on the car, it’s now an asset and it’s therefore now a deposit on something new as we also don’t have to pay out for the money pit any more,,, how much are those FF’s?”...... STOP IT!, please just stop it, stupid car-buying brain....... Just be grateful for what you have got...

Merry Christmas!

Yeah I wasn't born then.

I wish when I was younger I didn't listen to my parents and took the risks I wanted to.

My parents are very risk adverse and always encouraged to just save for a rainy day and put it in the bank.

I would say the Strad would probably be more of an event to drive. Yes the FF is a V12 and it has a horse on it - but not sure it would be worth more than doubling the cost of the Strad. The 458 however would be safer...

I know but it’s like the Dean Martin - Sammy Davis Jnr scene from Cannonball Run (probably must favourite scence from a movie ever),,,,

Sammy Davis Jnr: “God is our co-pilot”

Dean Martin: “God is our co-pilot?”

Sammy Davis Jnr: “yeah”

Dean Martin: “remember our car?”

Sammy Davis Jnr: “yeah”

Dean Martin: “2 seats”

Sammy Davis Jnr” “2 seats”

Dean Martin: “Where’s he gonna sit?”

Slaps Sammy Davis Jnr

Dean Martin: “Where”?

Slaps him again..

————-

Love that film but the point is,,, “where I am gonna put the kids?”,,,, “where?”

I feel your dilemma. I took the FF out 3 times wanting to love it.
Then the 458 and 570s.
My decision was - put my daughter (who appreciates the car) in the passenger seat, and enjoy it.
When we all need to go out somewhere. Take the wife's car.
When I am ready to concede to the sands of time, get an Aston or A Bentley 2+2.

That sounds alarmingly famliar. My house is a baby at just 400 or so years old, and hence leaks like a seive and eats money for breakfast. I'm also driving a deposit.

I have been prey to this a couple of
Times. They get very frustrated when I ask them to leave when they take the ****.
When I explain A days labour is a days labour and materials cost the same for everyone they get frustrated when sprung.

Yep.
When we did our extensions/renovation, I was frequently quoted against the expected value post-work of the house. I.e. the quote had nothing to do with the labour and materials cost, instead the housing market.

I would have thought the drop was fairly obvious as they have been pushing for the man in the street to invest in them for the last month or so.

I go for cash and sometimes allow myself to top up say 15% of the value with a small low interest loan from the bank, of late anyway.

Very, very true...manipulation make's the rich richer......

Indeed, my scaffolder mate @ work has identified 5/6 individuals on Instagram, piqued his interest, so he started buying shares when he identified "their" interest in certain shares. Watched them ramp up and then cashed out well before the end of the farce. He showed me how much he has made in last month, not something I condone but there you go...
