High mileage Gransport - What are the reasons not to buy?

The grey dash top could well be a glarey pain come high summer but I don't think changing the dash top to black would fit in with the grey interior. Other than that, it looks to be a very cheap way into GS ownership. Well worth considering.

If there is no reason mechanically not to look at higher mileage then I will include them in my search. Anyone selling a red or blue Gransport over the winter please pm me.

Benny,
I'm with you on the grey dash top, that would reflect a bit on the screen in sunlight, maybe some sort of flattening coat to take the sheen off..??

I had a grey interior on my first 4200, there was never and problem with the dash and sun...but I did not use polish on it as I am aware this can cause the same even on black cars.

Go for it at around 16k. The only issue is that it may take a while to sell as the current owner is finding out. Mine is Cat D but as long as you have it checked over or if you know what you're doing, it should be fine. For a GS, that's peanuts money really.

If the price is right then anything will sell...But at 16k it's got to be worth a look....I remember it being in really great condition when he bought it.

It looks in really good condition now, it's only the mileage I think or it would fly out of the door at that money..!!

I have found a Gransport I am interested in but being new to Maserati I do not know the independents very well. I would like to organise a pre purchase inspection so could anyone recommend someone who covers the Lincoln area? Thanks

Jamhot,
Most Indies will do an inspection for between £200 & £300. If you can get the owner to take it in to one by appointment, they will do a good report. Tell the Indie to only give the report to you if you're paying, some are a bit loosed lipped with the owner. Shiltech are maybe your closest, I have used them and they are good..!!
Best Of Luck..!!

I think you'd be looking at Sheffield or Nottingham for an inspection.

Jamhot,
When I bought mine, I asked the owner to take it in and I would pay for his petrol, booked it with the Indie and got a true report done. The owner had to travel about 50 miles one way to do this, but he wanted to sell the car..??
