Over the last few months I've seen the same few cars for sale on various websites but in the last few weeks I've seen substantial price drops on the higher mileage cars

There's 3 on autotrader now for less than 13k 2 at £11,500

£11,500

Neither mention when they last had a clutch which would make them 15k cars if they need one so what are they actually worth , they rarely come up for auction on eBay but the few that have rarely make over 10k

So are QPs worth what's being asked , I noticed the black GT on here made £13,750 with one bid but read the clutch was at 90% which I assumed meant ready for changing so that'll be an 18k car.

High miles have never put me off, some of the most reliable cars I've owned have had over 100k on so what do we think

Money pit or with a full service history they'll have had most of the big jobs done at that mileage

Why do you think it will cost you £5k for a clutch?

It's the wrong time of year to sell a QP, or indeed any high performance saloon, but a great time to buy one. I'd say that has a good deal to do with seasonally suppressed prices.

From what I read a clutch is around the 4k mark fitted on a QP

I was just rounding numbers up £13,750 to £17,750

I always thought a clutch was around 2500 but recently a few on here have said it could be as much as 4k.... But for years 2500 has been the price.

Early QP clutch kits are about £900.00 + vat and post 06 are about £1300.00 + vat, add in flywheel, release bearing, sensor and housing bearing plus labour which can be anything from £600.00 to £1000.00 + vat and you can see that £2500.00 is almost a starting figure.

And of course in my case you add in a gearbox rebuild and new bearings in the torque tube and the bill is eye watering !

Maybe an early car is the way to go then, less chance of a variator problem plus cheaper parts , a high mile car will come down to what it's had spent on it recently

I'm still gutted I missed the 10k cat D car last week

I've had my eye on both of those, the first one has been hanging around for quite a while. Regarding clutch wear - how is this measured / checked... presumably an inspection of some kind by an indie or main dealer...? Any idea how much this would cost folks?

Yes, the first one has been for sale for an absulote age. Any QP at this price point would need a very good inspection indeed unless you know the car and owner very well.
