I regularly drive an Audi Q3 (not sure of all the initials but was top of the range 4 years ago) and sadly a diesel.
It is truly awful
Slow (2 L) cumbersome, poor acceleration. Bland and dark in the cabin, not particularly comfortable. I honestly don't know why people buy them. It is one of the worse cars I have ever driven.
'We' are now looking to replace and the best one so far is a Mercedes GLA petrol 1.3(!)
Lexus were only ok. Tried Jaguar showroom (Epace) twice and have not managed to speak to a rep yet let alone drive.
Volvo XC40 tomorrow BMW are a none starter apparently
VW T Roc cheaper end but no experience of them
Land Rover not considered as family member owns one and has lots of electrical problems so that one is out too.
All of them so far have had dark interiors which is not good
Best of luck
Funny, i just bought a Q3. It’s really for the wife as i use “her” Macan most of the time. The Q3 is decent, comfy, well equipped, well built and quick enough. We have the 2l tdi Quattro 185 version, I wouldn’t have bought the basic 150 version. They hold value well, look the part and all the family like it, including the dogs! The retained value is so high that we are paying £169 a month for a 4 year old one with all the toys including sunroof etc etc. Cheaper than leasing a Fiat 500.
Used to have an xc60 which we all loved, i would have another if they weren’t so expensive.
The Mercedes GLA is so ugly to my eyes, but there’s lots around so i guess i’m not always right. The newer GLB is nicer i think.
We found the Jaguar to be poor inside compared to the Audi.
I normally hate Audi but it just worked for us. Luckily mine has the optional indicators and tailgating pack! I don’t love it, the Macan is miles and miles better but for a daily family car, it’s decent.
