I have trade plates dicky.....i got traders cover for all the cars when we had a restaurant, there was 5 cars for me and my family and we had chef and managers for when i wasnt there insured also.....

Still have it, i ended the policy but i paid for the plates for another year....get trade insurance and you can get trade plates

Thanks for the advice on that, been told otherwise so I'll look into it on Monday.

You can still buy at auction.....only need them to move cars that are not taxed as they wont let them go if they not taxed.....many people put them on recovery trucks anyway as they buy about 3 every time....

You need trade plates if you intend to buy at auction.

Or tax it before you leave. I don't buy cars from auctions very often, only ever bought two cars from an auction. Don't like it unless it's a beauty.

Can't believe they let the catering trade have trade plates but fair play Dem i supose i could buy myself a chefs outfit if i wanted too.
Had my trade plates for 25 years and at times they are a pain in the *** as the policy have a policy red and white stop on site because of abuse of the plates so be careful Dicky.
You cannot leave a vehicle on the public highway with trade plates for starters.
Best of luck with the business though mate.

We got trade as a business.....it was cheaper going trade....

Plates cant be left overnght or on a street acting as tax.....only to be used to drive to a location.....

Lovely site, good luck. Had I seen this thread earlier you could have helped me get my 996! This one would have benefitted from an inspection prior to purchase, that's for sure!
