Hi,

after enjoying some great 3 days joining many of Sportmaserati's members at the Centennial Meeting in Modena we decided to swap sides and be more active here.
My wife and I share the passion for vintage cars as well as our black/beige QP 2009.
We live in the west near Dortmund and here we are almost the only Maser owners in this area.

Would be great to meet members on an event here in Germany or the UK as well.

Cheers from Herdecke :)

A very warm welcome to you Eberhard, great to see so many forums together out there.

If only we can get Maserati to talk to us now, everything will be good.

Hello 2b1ask1

thanx for the welcome :)
As far as someone told me those days they (Maserati UK/Italy) are still reading here at least...

Best,
Eberhard

Hopefully they can find their voice and explain their actions against us out there as it was totally necessary and severely damaged the brand among their enthusiasts which is not good for anyone. I hope they are reading this, we will welcome any dialogue...

Wilkommen Eberhard, so glad you joined up on our forum. It was good to see you in Modena and to see a nice clean QP, I'm still in Italy and won't get back till Friday, but come Saturday I'll join you in spirit and give my 4200 a good wash.

Eberhard - we did not get the chance to meet in Modena, but a belated hello and welcome. If you think the UK exhausts were mind-blowing just wait for some of the rubbish we create on this forum.

Welcome Eberhard.

Glad you enjoyed the madness and crazy exhaust notes of the "Wacky Racers".

Post up some pics of your QP, I'd like to see them again please...

Newton - we don't fit their ABC marketing profile. Sadly, they forget the fools like us who bought the cars when they were selling 2-3,000 per year. We need to move the forum and outsource ourselves to Asia.

The one thing that gives me heart is that this forum is fighting way above its size and all those actively involved are doing an amazing job of keeping the older cars going. Not one of the team I met in Modena, Bormio stinted on the care or love for their cars. Some of the money spent to keep them going is extraordinary. The good news is we are canny enough to ensure that is is spent with the right people.

I have to say after the efforts of Matt, Rob, Drew to arrange this trip and the hordes of us who turned up to support our beloved brand the attitude of the factory was so out of kilter that personally I feel dis-enfranchised.

Love the car, love this forum, love the people I met and partied with in Italy but believe Wester and his management team has a huge amount to learn about building the brand on a pyramid and not stilts.

You will be the first that can. Even I have to stop reading - I am sure beta-blockers would help.

BennyD's Modena diaries actually gave me a stitch from the giggles. I will never be able to say Offal Sausage again with a smile curling my lip.

Very well put Damon; it was just so saddening to get that message passed on from Drew that they had taken that action to scupper our plans. So misguided, I mean what did they think we were going to do that they couldn't protect their brand? Surely if they had thought it through, sending a couple of dollies down with some promo stuff to keep an eye on proceedings would have been a massive freebie for them???

Instead of which they employed the dollies to stand in hotel lobbies trying to sell overpriced packages we had already said no to!!!

Newton, pretty much most from the German Erdmann forum refused to come to Modena due to their pricey packages. They weren't even thinking about having fun there with same-minded petrolheads nonetheless. I could imagine that and man we had!

But I agree when I heard the story I also was upset how Maserati could treat afficionados like that and that this will have massive negative impact to the image of our beloved brand.

Welcome, Eberhard. It's usually as crazy on here as it was in Italy. Unfortunately you can't hear the exhausts on this forum, though!
