Soooo . . . .bringing this back to business - are there any tips or threads for me to look up when it comes to common faults, common parts that need replacing (I am thinking warn switches and interior parts too), where I can get those parts and any upgrades I should bear in mind? I've noted Larini exhausts. ;-)

Get used to thread drifts!

As for what to look for, I suggest getting out and looking at a few.

Look at history, upgrades, how it's been looked after, stone chips, general wear and tear.
Or go to Auto Italia tomorrow, look at what is there and talk to the owners. Most don't bite.

Don't stress yourself about what to look for. Let people such as Richard Grace do all that for you. Yes it may cost you a tad more up front, but you'll be buying a best example and most probably save yourself money overall. As ever, buy the best you can.
