I have a 2004 4200 Spyder GT and the front offside headlight has failed (low beam) ,I have tried replacing the lamp but no joy. The full beam works , anyone any suggestions on what may be the cause? I was going to purchase a starter and another new lamp (quite costly) and if anyone knows if there are other sources apart from the dealers where I could get replacements your info would be appreciated.

Try David Askew for parts, or any Indie for advice. You might even be able to use a normal headlight bulb until you manage to source a new xenon bulb/starter.

I have had issues with failed xenon lights in the cold weather in the past. When it got warmer, it seemed to fix its self, and giving it a tap never did it any harm.

Worth a go.

I would expect that any generic starter and bulb (that fitted) would work as well.

I could be wrong, of course, but sure I read it somewhere.

have you tried replacing the relay? They are known to be a bit flakey on occasions and cheap and easy thing to try?
