The red key is not an issue. I know what the problem is with the remote key unlock. The rubber buttons wee **** and perish meaning they become pushed in an flat giving the appearance that there is no button. My keys didn't work but I soon fixed that. They can be recoded too
Cowsurgeon's car might still be for sale. He'll be in touch tomorrow. It's a great spec and has had a lot of money spent on it (lots by me!) including the cam chains being done etc. At the very least I'd suggest you go to see it as it is in your neck of the woods and would be a good reference of what to look for.
Thanks , that's handy to know, it seemed a shame to write this car off as a definate no because of the code key. Can the buttons be purchased then to refit? I don't really get how his alarm can still work though without the remote working?
The Bedford car has "Auto Headlights & Heated Screen", never come across those before in a 3200 GTA..??
Speak to Dicky, the big advantage there, is that Autoshield do a full inspection and all that needs doing is done, plus you have a warranty within the price usually..!! I have both bought and sold cars via Dicky and the experience has always been pretty good..!!
I think Ill maybe do as youve suggested, if this one that was on the forum is definately not happening (And its a shame as Id be all over it) then Ill be ringing Dicky I think, missus will just have to live with the colour (Shes going to get fed up of car sharing soon enough anyway!)
Don't rush, only a seldom few good 3200's go on the market each year. If black's not for you, don't buy it. Wait until the car you want comes up for sale, but please please, don't go and buy any old car out there, no matter how good it looks. The Bedford car has had 4 services in 13 years.
