Has anybody swapped out the Becker unit in a GS

Have been weighing up the pros and cons of installing a more contemporary unit with proper SatNav, bluetooth phone and music streaming, DAB, possibly with a flip out screen. Has anybody done this? If so, what have you installed? My reluctance is, whilst reversible, it will significantly change the original look of the control panel.

The alternative is, I guess, to get a connector and smartphone cradle. If you do this, how neat have you managed to make it in terms of cabling? What cradle/connector do you use?

Any photos would be great. Thanks Robert

Have to say that the Becker Sat Nav unit is the only thing I think detracts from the GS usability...they should have made the NIT unit in the 4200 more sporty (Inc software) and had a proper combined unit.

I swapped mine out for DAB/IPOD/Bluetooth phone thing, I think it's pioneer. i'd have preferred to keep the look of the becker unit but weighed up the benefits of swapping it out and thought it made sense, though I've kept the original unit so I can put it back to standard if needed

I've fitted a Parrot Asteroid Tablet in mine. Phone, Bluetooth, Spotify, TuneIn Radio, lots if SatNa. Options. Use my phone as a personal hotspot. Only issue is that you have to download all apps while in car. No option to hook up to computer so can be tiresome downloading maps for satnav. Obvious issues of dropping out if phone network is lousy. Neatly integrated by an IFitStuff fitter for £400. I'll post pics later. Took about 2.5 hours.
