How does a GT drive in comparison to a 4200?

Matt, I've driven both and the GT felt heavy and no where near as agile as the 4200 but then just look at the difference...The 4200 is small compared to the GT........They are two very different cars and there is no way that it was a replacement for the GS/4200.....The GT is far more of a Grand tourer....It rode much better than a GS/4200 and I could see me driving from her to Iatly and getting out refreshed.......Both great cars but for different reasons..Oh, apart from the noise..Both great..

Yes there is Dem, one on each car. If you look, you'll find it underneath!

I can add a bit more on the comparison as I owned a 3200, then a 4200, test drove a 4.2 GT and then bought a 4.7 GTS Auto.

The GranTurismo - with whichever engine - has far better traction, stability and braking than the 4200. It is much bigger though but handles just as well IMHO if you can cope with the size - the width is the main issue.

The main problem with the 4.2 GranTurismo is that in manual mode, the gearbox will still kick down which I could not live it. I regularly drive my car in manual sport mode and often go for full throttle at low revs - something which the 4.2 cannot do without kicking doen two gears.

For sound, the 4200 and the 4.2 GT are pretty much the same - easily fixed after market if you wish.

The main advantage of the GranTurismo is the sheer presence that it offers. It regularly gets noticed, much more than the 4200 in my opinion.

GT dont sound good.....do larinis offer a sound like the S?

Went to the Lakes three years back with a guy in his 4.2 GT. He had Larini on it and it sounded wonderful....as good as a 4.7s on standard box...the sound when he returned up the happy after a blast was fantastic...every down shift echoing off the hills and dales .
