The interior really suits the colour as well...Even the wood steering wheel is not offensive...

That does on the face of it look like a bargain. Just not sure if I would be happy with the performance of the 4.2 and after a short while would be looking for more

What a bargain!!

Wood out carbon in??!!

Change steering for me.....id wrap car black!!

I bet it would cost a lot of pennies to put carbon in there Dem...Steering wheel must cost loads and then all the trim................Not a fan of wood but as we said in other thread in the blue and that warm interior the wood looks OK........Slippery to use though I would have thought...

I had the wooden wheel option in my 156 Andy and it was fine; never slippy and nice to the touch. Agree though that wooden wheels don't suit many modern cars.

Gosh that's interesting. I love the colour combo too.

Andy, and everyone else, be careful when you post Autotrader links because they give out your postcode. I'm sure I would not want my address published in open forum. Use something else in your home town. I always use SW1A 1AA (it's a little house near Victoria station which is seldom used because the owners are often in Windsor and Balmoral).

I guess it depends on how much you sweat!

I have a wooden steering wheel in my QP and I don't like it. It's fine for short journeys but when I do six or seven hours behind the wheel it gets sweaty and uncomfortable.

My passengers would probably say my driving makes them sweaty and uncomfortable too!

What this car tells you is that trade on early 4.2 GranTurismo is now at £30k or below.

We do need to put this into context though. This car is three months off five years old and has done c12000 miles PA. Cost new would have been c£84k if you assume that early buyers got no discount. Look at other cars and that residual is right up there - 35% retail to trade is strong at five years old.

Will start pushing 4200/GS down further though.

I know its not going to happen but pick it up for 31k and spend some on an exhaust and steering wheel and you have one lovely car there

No, not IMO. GTS yes, GT no. Different cars. I think your man who buys a GT is the man who would buy a 4200....I think the GS is more comparable to the GTS so the prices of those coming down is more relevant.

They are all linked. Sure, the GS is more insulated as long as miles are controlled but most punters don't buy with as much knowledge as forum users.

I am not of the same mind set. It was said only 4 years ago that 3200 would not go below £10k, lots at £8 and below now, GS's now at £20k...yes they will all fall as they cost quite a bit to look after and it will only be when demand exceeds supply that prices will go up...and as there are plenlty of cars hanging around for sale they can only carry on going down. Remember they did produce a lot of GS's in comparison to the old 3500, Merack, Boara etc
