GS gearbox glitch

Hi All.
can you guys help with some advice pls.
Yesterday I took the car our for a run, Whilst waiting for the garage doors to open I had the car in neutral.
When I tried to select first gear it kept going straight to second and would not go into first. After a few attempts I switched the car off waited a bit then tried again, and it was fine. I also had the red level light on but after switching off that went off.
The gearbox has been changed recently and there was no oil under that car.
Is this a battery reset job or clutch starting to play up ? The car was fine after the initial hiccup.

I'd check the level first.

Another one to check is the reverse lever return spring is working properly, this can throw some odd reactions from the gearbox if it is not springing back. I manually lift mine when using it to be sure.

Was the gearbox oil changed? or the gearbox assembly?

I might be wrong, but isn't the oil level light for the CC gubbins and not the box itself? I'd check that level too...

all oil / fluids where changed in the last service.
its going in for some other checks and new yellowstuff pads so they will check it out this week.
